agriculture metal

still trying to wrap my head around the music scene that a friend introduced me to recently, and I haven't been very successful. agrimetal takes elements from traditional forms of metal music and combines them with provincial forms of chinese folk entertainment and music, something that i gleamed from douban, often china's best equivalent to wikipedia, but that somehow doesn't quite describe chairman ba, a band i went to see other night. setting their incomprehensible re-written lyrics of a famous chinese folk singer to pachelbels channon sheds a little light on the only constants you'll find in there song writing: randomness and appropriation.
